i cooked bak kut teh for the first time ever in my life. tastes damn good man! i give it 10/10.
hahaaha. the picture can't really show much of my effort. but i took 3 hours preparing it and also a special dip (chilli padi+garlic+ginger+lime juice) for the bak kut. i love to do things like this alone. cooking slowly, putting in all my heart and effort to make it taste as good as those food i miss. i enjoy driving alone down the highway and to anywhere cos no one will tell me to slow down or that i have crossed a lane or that i have not signaled. i like going to gym myself, at least i know no one familar will be watching me sweating my ass out.

i feel bad. just bathed. was supposed to drive al and myself home but you know, once i fall asleep, i'm like a dead log. al always let me drive when the car car hits HWY 1, but traffic is bad today so he told me to sleep first and he'll call me up when he gets tired. i knew it was going to be a bad idea. and so when al really did call me up, i remembered mumbering "let's sleep first and i'll drive later". i feel so bad, he's tired too. hmmm.... no more, "adeline, you sleep first"! i WILL drive once it hits HWY 1 from now on!
and we had a shocking bill for dinner at this chinese eatery today. $85 for a meal for the 2 of us. ridiculous man! but i guess we ordered too much. had a "mei chai kou rou" that's $18 and chicken, duck and roast pork skin combo that cost us $50 but we were not told the actual price! should have asked for the price before we ordered. chinese restaurants here are very "jiao hua". typical chinese. you will always get a shock after a chinese meal in almost every chinese restaurant and they usually don't show u the bill till you demand for it. hmmm.... lesson learnt. no more next time toO!

hahaha.... so i actually wanted to say that al and i went out for lunch on sunday with this sailing mate called Nicola at an Iranian/Persian restuarant. it was like a buffet stlye kind of lunch. food's really good and the meat's fantastic! yup...and al brought me to this place "The Little Snail" by Harbour bridge for dinner on saturday. had escargots, tuna, mussels, rare kangaroo meat add desserts! yummy!!! heh...lucky me =)

anyways, i went back down to sydney for sailing's theory lesson on monday evening and so went down to the hotel again and i got my PUMAs back!!! yay! thank god the housekeeper didn't throw them away. god bless you.

alvin and i had just sterilized whatever we can this evening once we got back from sydney. we washed our bed sheets, alvin cleaned the toilet cos he refused to let me do it, i rewashed all the dishes cos the bitches don't wash them with soap. i feel peace now. yup. finally some peace at home after one week of awkwardness. alvin said that we did this out of goodwill, hopefully we got "ji de". heh... and they stole some of our food too. whatever, most importantly, they are gone! it just puts us on cloud nine.
and i have had a super fruitful weekend!!! thanks to my cuzzie alvin =)
here's a list of what we have done:
::saturday::
-got up at 5.30am
-sent the bitches off at 6.30am to the teain station
-headed down to sydney
-got there just in time for sailing class at 9am, totally enjoyed it!!!
-ate lamb chops for lunch at the sailing club
-went shopping along pitt street, bought a josh groban CD, an orange halter from Marcs, papaya body foam from bodyshop
-shopped for gorgeous gloria's birthday present
-bought a spa package for gloria at The Wharf
-ate chilli crap and char kway teow for dinner, costs us $120
-went to the pub at Star City (the Casino by Darling Harbour) for gloria's party.
-made new friends, laura (this really pretty argentinian who looks like J.LO), henry (gloria's brother), raj (al's ex house mate), kenneth (al's med school mate)... met loads of people...
- got home at 3.30am
-fell dead asleep
::sunday::
-woke up at the hotel at 9am, went for the breakfast there
-met up with al's friends at Queen Victoria Building for lunch
-shopped for sailing shoes, sizes were all too large for asians
-went to Auto Salon Car Show, $22/pax. felt a little cheated when i went in cos it wasn't as good as i thought it would be. loads of posers who modified their cars till it doesn't look like a car anymore.
-went for dinner at little italy and had gelato for dessert. food's really great!!!
-wanted to attend the french film festival but tickets are all sold out when i got there! a littlle disappointed. next time then =)
-headed back to newcastle
-reached home at 8.30pm
-taking a break from sterilizing the house now

on my way from the car park to the red square today, i met this australian guy at the footpath and he just turned to me and asked me to look at a lizard sunbathing. interesting man, i have never seen a lizard the size of my arm, sunbathing in the public. hahaha. i know this sounds crap and actually i was a little afraid of it so i turned to him and asked if it will bite and all and what species it is, he said it is called the blue tongue. that is the second Mr Nice Australian Guy i meet today, before him, i was trying to looking for a parking lot at the arki car park and i was drving in circles for 15 minutes and then this nice guy pointed out his lot to me and told me to wait for him to leave and after that, he even offered me his parking ticket. it is AUD$3 for a full day parking in school and since he was leaving, he thought i may need it so he offered it to me but i've bought the school parking season ticket.

seriously, i used to think that australians are pretty much an unfriendly and racist bunch of people. i still do now, but the 2 guys whom i've met this afternoon kind of change a little of my perception on them, if only more of these nice people exists that do not judge the people they meet by their colour or their slang, i think the world will be a much happier palce to live in. this reminds me of chia chiam, this smu guy whom i met while working in Grand Canyon, he always says that the happiest place on earth is Disneyland.... haaha.. maybe, if only i am younger =)
I can't wait to go home. i miss home, miss my mom, dad, ah ma, josh and bel, my np friends, and of course my darling baby bao bei toO! i'm going to dance at changi airport the day when i touch down. it's going to be serious business. i'm actually taking up a little bit of a hip hop class but out of 2 classes, i have already skipped 1 (-_-) heh... no time ar and i think that i can't dance for nuts, just going there to embaress myself. but i'm enjoying it =) also taking body combat, something like martial arts but it composes of a mix of martial arts. yup. i will return home with some abs hopefully.
p.s. darling, thanks for keeping me company throughout last night, i miss hearing you snore and seeing your abdomen moving up and down when u sleep. haaha... quite funny actually cos u kept on insisting that you are awake but i actually heard u snore and watched u falling asleep on skype. technology and technology, what would i do without the internet, the phone, the webcam, i would miss you soO much. i would miss my SUPERHERO. muacks sweetheart!

come to think of it, it's really expensive to spend AUD$125 for a 3-month gym & pool membership. yar, now i appreciate the affordable sports facilities back in singapore.
what to do...it's either health or money, choose one.
i've come to psycho myself, or it's a fact, that money can buy you everything except health, true love and family. since all of that lies in my own hands, what is a hundred and twenty five right? ok, enough of my crap. by the way, i signed up for golf too. another AUD$70. i think i spent $250 yesterday for all the membership and grocery shopping. the most i've spent in a day here. but it's all for a good cause. and i bought this wallet thingy from http://thejimi.com.au/ that costs another AUD$25. hmmm... i'm spending too much.
p.s. alvin's back for good! no more lonely meals at home! we cooked curry chicken and baby cabbage yesterday for dinner. supposed to have it after we return from gym but the food smells too good and so we ended up having our dinner first before heading down to the gym =)

i know this doesn't look a teeny weeny bit buttery (cos i drained the butter away) but i did fry the prawns in a WHOLE lot of butter. and as usual, i have a fetish for garlic and ginger, and so added a little of both and it tastes kind of good. i mean, how bad can my cooking be when i am cooking for my own consumption. hahaha...i miss your egg tarts :)
