it was alvin's birthday on friday and he was supposed to come home that night but he was too tired after work and fell asleep. can't drive for 3 hrs feeling tired, it's too dangerous. and somehow the thought that he's coming home that night, made me not so scared of the night and i slept so peacefully.
the trip down to sydney on saturday was great!
we went to some chinese restaurant in chinatown and had FRESH Lobster sashimi. i seriously mean fresh cos it has got all the fishes, crabs, lobsters and abalone live in their own tanks and the waiter there fished out the lobster, weighed it and showed my cuz and told him the price. it's a hefty 150 bucks for a lobster for 2 of us.
but it's really super yummy! it's so damn fresh! should have brought my camera along to show u guys =) just imagine having the shell of the Raw Australian Lobster right in front of you with the meat placed beside it and dipping it into wasabi and soy sauce. it just taste like heaven!
and den after the dinner, we joined gloria and carla for a play called the "Mariah"cos gloria's friend is one of the main actresses. all of us thought that the play's going to be some typical tragedy show but it turned out to be damn R (A). we were all in shock in the third scene when one actress walked out onto the stage top naked and attempted to clean herself up. she's supposed to be acting as a prostitute. the play's damn fantastic, so real life but was a little too short (an hour).
so, to end the day, gloria suggested that we have some pancakes near the harbour and i had cheese filled crepes with vanilla ice cream and strawberries, alvin took some roll with salad, gloria had 2 super chocolaty pancakes and carla took the strawberry special. the food was really good but as the shop was a little too small for the damand, the waitresses were in such a hurry to clear our plates even when alvin was not done with his food and that pisses the hell out of him and he snapped at the waitress but she just continued to clear the plates. goodness...bad service for such good desserts. what a shame.
i collected my car on sat too, the moment i got to sydney. bought it second hand from sydney toyota. looks damn old. i've got a name for it. it's called "ah pok". some photos of ah pok:

and alvin was pist with toyota cos they did not do a proper check on the vehicle although we gave them 1 week to make sure that all is well with the car. i drove it first but being unexperienced, i didn't notice that the alignment was slanted but when alvin drove it, the car kept swerving to the left when he let go of the steering wheel. so he called up toyota, gave them a good scolding and brought the car back to toyota the next day. but as it was a sunday, the mechanics were not there so toyota suggested that we bring the car back to newcastle, have it aligned and send them the invoice and they will reimburse us cos the car is under 1 year warranty. they estimated the cost to be 30 to 40 bucks, but when i went to Bob Jane (tyre shop) today, it costs me $77!!! twice the price. but i'll get the money back anyway.
so the whole alignment thingy took 45 minutes and i walked over to bi-Lo and Grower's best (fresh food mart) and bought mushrooms, "bok chay", 2 litres of milk and carrot. somehow, i think i'm used to the car swerving to the left cosa when i picked the car up after the service, i kept pulling the steering wheel to the right and kept having the impression that the car is still going slightly to the left. will test it out tmr again. if it doesn't get well, i will bring it back to bob Jane tmr...
alvin just called to check whether i'm home and whether the tyres are aligned. after all the ACTIVE civilisation i was exposed to during the weekends, i'm back home alone again. we'll see. i have soO much free time. only having a 3day week, TUES to THURS cos the school management refuse to let me take 5 modules. i should find something to do. seriously.
